Located in historic downtown Bozeman, Coqui Mountain Coffee resides in one of the city's oldest buildings. Built in the late 1800's it began as a home and evolved in a multitude of fashions over the century. At one point the small space was divided into two apartments, each one no larger than 220 square feet but housing room for a bed, bath, and kitchen. Its' most recent inhabitants were community steward Timothy Tate & Mr. Mack's Barbershop. Several years ago the extreme age of the building necessitated major repairs that transformed the property from two units into one ...and thus created space for Coqui Mountain Coffee.
Honoring the building's unique and rich heritage, Coqui Mountain hired local artist Jamie Bonvicino to help create the shop's ambiance. Striving to communicate the owner's roots in Montana and Puerto Rico, as well as the rich comfort that is coffee, Jamie worked without a projector and brought to life the images the shop's owner imagined. Jamie's amazing talent shines brightly in her works.
